1 · QR content

Digital menu, Google reviews, Instagram, WhatsApp… Short links = easier-to-scan QR.

2 · Code design

With a logo at the center, use H or Q correction so the code keeps scanning. Decorative shapes (star, heart…) carry less ink per module: if scans get hard, switch back to Square or Circle.

It sits at the center of the QR inside a white circular badge; error correction jumps to H automatically to keep it scannable. Applied to PNG, SVG and the live preview — the 3D object keeps the full QR.

Frequently asked questions

What is a 3MF file and why is it better than STL?

3MF is the standard format for modern 3D printers (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and Cura all open it). Unlike STL — geometry only — 3MF stores colors too: your file comes with the base in one color and the QR relief in another, no manual assignment in the slicer.

Does a 3D-printed QR really scan with a phone?

Yes, with three conditions the tool takes care of: modules at least 0.4 mm wide, a clear margin around the code (quiet zone), and good contrast between base and relief. Dual-color printers get color contrast; single-color prints rely on shadows from the relief, which most phones read fine.

Do I need a dual-color printer?

No. The 3MF carries two materials: on a single-extruder machine it prints in one color and still works. With AMS/MMU or a dual extruder, you get exactly the two colors you picked.

What size and relief should I use?

Hand-held scanning (8–12 in): a 50–60 mm plate with 1–1.2 mm relief. Wall signs viewed from 3–6 feet: 120–200 mm. The tool warns you when your QR has too many modules for the chosen size.

Does the QR expire or depend on you?

No. The QR is a fixed pattern generated in your browser: it never expires, touches no server, and does not depend on us. What you encode today scans years from now.

Can I sell products with these QR codes?

Yes. The codes, files and printed objects are yours, with no restrictions. Selling keychains or plates made with PIXAROX is perfectly fine.

My printer only reads STL — does it work?

Yes: the STL button downloads the same object in a single color, compatible with any slicer.
